Hello everyone,
Just a quick note to share a few administrative updates that can be requested through the BA office.
Sharing Registration Stores and Temporary Transfers
If your association anticipates players from another association wishing to participate in your tryouts, please contact me directly. I will ensure that the appropriate registration access is arranged so that those players are able to complete a temporary transfer for tryout registration purposes.
Please note that this process applies strictly to tryout registration. If your association has a final registration store open for the exact category of the player, they must complete the standard transfer procedure before registering with your association and being added to a team.
Underage player roster additions
We are currently working on a system feature to request a player classification change. In the meantime, if you need to roster an underage player, please email me with:
Player name + Spordle ID
Team name + Team ID (the team you want them added to)
I will complete the roster addition for you.
Best,

Hello everyone,
For the 2026 season, Baseball Alberta has updated the Player Transfer Process (Provincial League AA, AAA & BAEL) to improve clarity and reduce manual steps.
What’s changed
Player transfers will follow a two-association approval model in Spordle iD
If both the outgoing and incoming associations approve, the transfer is automatically approved by Baseball Alberta
When a transfer is completed fully in Spordle iD, there is no requirement to upload a signed transfer form
What stays the same
Residency, eligibility, and transfer/import rules remain unchanged
Appeals are required if the outgoing association denies a transfer
Players/families must complete the Appeal Request Form to start the appeal process
Manual Transfer Forms are still required in specific situations (see below)
Important note
If a player is already listed in Spordle as Primary with the incoming association, the Spordle transfer workflow cannot be used.
In these cases:
A Manual Transfer Form must be completed
The form must be signed by both associations
The completed form must be uploaded to the player’s Spordle profile under Documents for roster verification
This upload may be completed by the player/family or the Primary Association
*See specific special case example at the link below
The full transfer process and rules are available here:
https://handbook.baseballalberta.com/rules-regulations/roster-requirements/player-transfers
For Association Admins in Spordle iD, a short walkthrough video is also available outlining the updated process from a Spordle admin perspective:
Updates to the Spordle Transfer Process for Admins - Watch Video
Transfer Vocabulary within the Spordle iD system
Transfer terms have been updated in the Spordle iD system!
Currently, the terms are defined as follows:
Permanent Release
A permanent change of a player’s Primary organization. This removes all Shared organizations and assigns a new Primary organization.
Permanent Share
Adds an organization as a Shared organization on the player’s profile while keeping the existing Primary organization unchanged. The shared access remains in place until it is removed.
Temporary Share
Adds an organization as a Shared organization for one season only. The shared access is automatically removed when the next season begins.
Primary organization
The Primary organization has full control of the player’s profile, including editing information, registration, and rostering. A player can only have one Primary organization at a time.
Shared organization
A Shared organization has limited access to the player’s profile and can roster and register the player. Shared organization cannot change the player’s Primary organization. Members can have multiple shared organizations.
Thank you for your continued cooperation as we work to simplify processes while maintaining consistency across the province. If you have questions after reviewing the materials above, please reach out.
